Water Babies is a swimming program for children aged 0 to 5. Our group lessons in warm pools focus on water safety, core swimming skills and building confidence. Founded in the UK, we teach parents how to teach their babies to swim.

A safe and supportive introduction to water. Playful parent and child activities help little ones feel comfortable and relaxed in our warm water pools.

A structured program that builds week by week. Our curriculum is science based and developed with leading early years aquatic specialists, so each lesson builds on the last while supporting every child's age, stage and ability.

Expert teachers with advanced training. Every Water Babies teacher completes more than 120 hours of specialist training, above the Canadian standard, so every lesson is safe, supportive and right for your child's age.

Water Babies is now in Burlington and Oakville. We would love to welcome you and your little one to the pool.

Three nights of Asian street food are taking over Mapleview Shopping Centre this weekend. The Burlington Asian Night Market runs Friday, September 18 to Sunday, September 20, and admission is free.

Doors open Friday at 5:00 PM and run until 11:00 PM. Saturday goes from noon to 11:00 PM, and Sunday wraps up a little earlier, noon to 9:00 PM.

The market is one stop on the Ontario Asian Night Market Series, which tours the province all summer, and the food lineup is packed. Regulars on the series include takoyaki, Hong Kong egg waffles, Xinjiang-style lamb skewers, pan-fried steamed buns, sushi sandwiches, tanghulu (candied fruit on a stick), taiyaki and ice cream mochi.

Vendors change a little from city to city, so expect a few surprises too. Artisan vendors and cultural performances round out the evenings.

As sad as it is to watch summer dwindle away, there is something special about fall in Burlington. The colourful trees, crispy leaves, cozy sweaters, and all the wonderful events to soak in this season.

Speaking of events, mark your calendar for Saturday, October 3rd, for downtown Burlington's 5th annual Falling for Burlington Downtown. From 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the Elgin Promenade and Village Square fill up with seasonal bites (pumpkin-inspired, of course), games, interactive activities, and plenty of photo ops.

Construction is already underway on the new data centre at 3110 South Service Road, and last Friday the developer, Gliese AI, held a community open house at the Art Gallery of Burlington. Many of the residents who went left unhappy with it.

The session ran 3 to 5 PM on a Friday, with no presentation and no question-and-answer period. Staff pointed people to information boards on heat recovery, the closed-loop water cooling system, power grid impact and noise, and to a box where questions could be written down and answered later. Several attendees said it felt more like a social than an open house, and older adults had to ask for chairs to be brought out.

One resident summed it up: "I came here today and took time off to be given information and to be heard. Instead, I've come to a social."

🏅 Local Survivor Returns to Run for the Cure Oct 4

Burlington residents came together to eat their hearts out at Central Park on Saturday for the City's annual Food for Feedback event.

Locals enjoyed lunch while offering feedback on what matters to them and what they would like to see in Burlington's future. The menu of topics ran twenty deep, from the 2027 budget and the Official Plan review to transit, stormwater and next month's municipal election. In return for their two cents, everyone ate for free.

It's another reminder that strong communities are built when neighbours take the time to get involved and be heard. And what better way to connect than over a meal made by locals?

Mora is a sweet senior girl hoping to find a loving home where she can feel safe and loved again.

At 8½ years old, life at the shelter has been a little overwhelming for Mora, but beneath that uncertainty is a loving cat ready to blossom with the right person. Having lived in a home before, Mora is showing signs that she’s ready to trust again and find her forever home (especially with tasty treats).

Mora would do best in a quiet home with older children and a family that understands earning her trust may take time. In return, she could become a wonderful, loving companion.
