🏡 What is your home actually worth today?

If you have ever typed your address into one of those online estimators, you already know the number can be a long way off. It has never seen your home, and it does not know what makes yours different from the next one down the street.

Let me give you a real valuation instead.

I am out helping people buy and sell across Burlington every week, so I know what homes like yours are going for right now. Tell me a bit about your place, and I will put together a short video that walks you through what it could sell for, and why.

This is totally free, with no pressure to list. See what your home is worth today, whether you are planning a move or just curious.

Get Help With Snow Windrows This Winter ❄️

Discover Burlington Website

If clearing that mountain of snow the plow leaves at the end of your driveway is a winter chore you’d rather skip, Burlington has a program that can help.

Registration is now open for the City’s 2026-27 Windrow Clearing Program, designed for residents who can't clear the snow themselves because of age, disability, or financial circumstances. The seasonal cost is $150 plus HST, with eligible residents able to receive a 50% discount. The City says windrows are expected to be cleared within 36 hours after snowfall ends and within eight hours after residential roads are plowed.

If you’re eligible and want to avoid the winter windrow, register for the program before the season gets underway through the City of Burlington’s windrow clearing service.

Cougars Ride Winning Streak After 9-1 Blowout 🏒

Burlington Cougars Website

Burlington hockey fans have a hometown team worth cheering for! The Cougars delivered a dominant 9-1 win over the St. Michael’s Buzzers, their fourth win in a row.

Colin Ronalds led the offensive charge with two goals and four assists, while goaltender Paddy Landry stopped 30 of 31 shots in an impressive performance. The Cougars then made it five straight with a 5-1 win over the Toronto Patriots at Central Arena on Friday, before the streak ended in a 3-2 overtime loss in Toronto on Saturday.

For Burlington residents, the team's success is a great reason to get out and support local hockey. Every game offers a chance to rally behind local athletes and share the excitement with fellow fans.

With the Cougars heating up, Burlington supporters have plenty of reasons to keep their eyes on the season!

Mayoral Candidates Debate Affordability, Housing, and Data Centres 🗳️

What could Burlington look like over the next four years? That was the focus as about 250 residents gathered on Thursday to hear the city’s mayoral candidates discuss some of the issues shaping the upcoming municipal election.

Marianne Meed Ward, Lisa Kearns, and Rory Nisan faced questions on affordability, homelessness, development, data centres and transparency during the debate.

Affordability was a major focus, with candidates offering different approaches to city spending and taxes. Housing and homelessness were also mentioned, including discussion around supportive housing and the role of different levels of government. Data centres were another key issue, with candidates discussing local decision-making, infrastructure and the proposed facility at 3110 South Service Rd.

Burlington voters can use the weeks ahead to learn where each candidate stands on the issues that matter most to them before voting on Oct. 26th.

Falling for Burlington Brings Downtown to Life 🍂

Burlington Digest

Golden leaves, sunshine, and plenty of community spirit made Falling for Burlington Downtown a fall day to remember!

The fifth annual event brought residents together in Village Square and along Brant and Elgin streets for an afternoon celebrating local businesses and everything that makes downtown special. Visitors enjoyed free pizza from the new Hi-Line Pizza, free ice cream from La Crème de La Crème, plus face painting and caricatures for some extra family fun. Local businesses set up throughout the area, giving residents a chance to explore downtown, discover local favourites, and connect with their community.

With perfect fall weather, delicious treats, and neighbours enjoying the sunshine together, it was a wonderful reminder that sometimes the best way to celebrate Burlington is simply to get outside and enjoy it.

Telling Tales Brings a World of Stories to Burlington 📚

Burlington’s Telling Tales Festival brought stories to life this weekend, welcoming families to the Royal Botanical Gardens for a celebration of books, creativity and imagination.

The 18th annual festival featured more than 70 presentations by Canadian authors, illustrators, and storytellers across five festival tents at Hendrie Park. Visitors could enjoy live music, puppet shows, dance performances, creative workshops and interactive story walks. Families could also meet their favourite authors, explore local vendors and take part in the Book Swap & Shop, discovering new stories to bring home.

Beyond the books, the festival celebrates the power of literacy and the connections that grow when families experience stories together.

Here’s to building a community rooted in creativity and imagination!
