Sarah Kiani, $2,000 back on your next home

🏡 Make your next house feel like home.

Starting this month, Burlington Digest readers who buy a home with me in Burlington or the surrounding communities get $2,000 back after closing. You can put the money toward new furniture, moving costs or the first few things your new place needs.

First-time buyers and upsizers both qualify. The bonus applies to your first home, a bigger home or your next move.

The $2,000 comes with my full service. You get expert local guidance, a personalized home search and a negotiation strategy.

Registering doesn't commit you to anything. Tell me a little about your plans, and I'll be in touch to explain the offer and help you take the next step.

Kick Off the Holidays at Aldershot Village’s Annual Tree Lighting 🎄

Aldershotvillagebia Instagram

Looking for a festive way to welcome the holiday season? Residents are welcome to gather with neighbours for an afternoon of Christmas cheer at the annual Aldershot Village Tree Lighting!

Taking place on Saturday, November 21st, at Sun Country Plaza, 355 Plains Road East, the celebration will feature an outdoor holiday market, live music, local choirs, and coffee and hot chocolate. Little ones can also look forward to meeting Santa Claus!

The festivities run from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm, with the anticipated tree lighting scheduled for 6:00 pm. It’s a lovely opportunity to shop local and enjoy seasonal entertainment while connecting with the community as Burlington heads into the holidays.

Organizers also encourage visitors to bring non-perishable food donations for the Burlington Food Bank, offering a chance to spread kindness alongside the holiday spirit.

Bring your family, invite a neighbour, and enjoy a little holiday magic close to home!

New Ukrainian Passport Service Opens Right Here in Burlington 🇺🇦

Burlington’s Ukrainian community has a new local resource! A permanent Ukrainian Passport Service centre opened on October 20th, making it easier for Ukrainians living in Canada to access important identity documents without travelling to another city. Located at 3185 Harvester Road, Unit B2, the centre will initially operate in a test phase and offer services by appointment only.

Visitors can apply for or renew a Ukrainian national ID card or international passport, replace a lost or stolen passport, or exchange an older passport booklet for a new ID card. Eligible applicants can also apply for both an ID card and an international passport at the same time.

Looking to visit? The centre’s hours are Monday to Saturday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, though appointments must be booked through the electronic queue.

Pet Spotlight: Alexander The Great 🐾

Burlington Humane Society

Alexander the Great is hoping to find someone who will give him a peaceful place to call home.

This handsome, medium-haired gentleman is 18 years old and arrived at Burlington Humane Society as a stray. Despite his senior years, Alexander is affectionate, enjoys being around people, and gets along well with other cats.

He’d thrive in a quiet, adult-only home where he can relax and enjoy his golden years. Alexander has several ongoing medical conditions, including IBS, pancreatitis, kidney weakness, and thyroid issues, which are managed with medication. He’s currently enjoying life in a loving foster home, so a meet-and-greet will need to be arranged.

Could you be the person who gives this sweet senior the comfort, care, and love he deserves?
