Rose Market Brings Local Shopping to Burlington Centre 🌹

Burlington Centre
Looking for a fun way to shop local this weekend? The Rose Market is coming to Burlington Centre on Oct. 10th and 11th, bringing together local vendors and small businesses under one roof.
The two-day market offers Burlington shoppers a chance to browse unique finds, discover local creators, and support small businesses while enjoying a weekend outing at the mall. With the fall season underway, it’s a great opportunity to start checking names off your shopping list while finding something a little different from the usual stores.
The market takes place at Burlington Centre, 777 Guelph Line. Whether you’re shopping for yourself, looking for a gift, or simply want to see what local makers have to offer, the Rose Market is a chance to shop small and discover something new right here in Burlington.
What’s Open and Closed in Burlington This Thanksgiving 🦃
Planning to get around Burlington this Thanksgiving weekend? Here’s a quick service-by-service guide to what’s open, closed, and operating differently on Monday, Oct. 12th.
City administrative offices, including City Hall and Service Burlington, will be closed Monday. The Burlington Animal Shelter will also be closed for appointments, although animal-control emergencies can still be reported by phone. Burlington Transit will run on a holiday schedule, while Customer Service and Specialized Dispatch will be closed. Halton Court Services’ counter will also be closed.
There’s some good news for anyone heading downtown: municipal street parking, lots and the parking garage will be free Sunday and Monday, although waterfront lots remain subject to regular holiday parking rules.
For Burlington residents, a quick check before heading out could save you a holiday headache and leave more time for Thanksgiving celebrations with family and friends!
Halloween Skelebration Brings Spooky Family Fun to Mountsberg 🎃

Mountsberg
Looking for a Halloween adventure the whole family can enjoy? Mountsberg Conservation Area is bringing some spooky fun to Thanksgiving weekend with Halloween Skelebration.
This weekend it runs Friday and Saturday from 4:30 pm to 10:00 pm (it's closed Thanksgiving Sunday), then continues Friday to Sunday evenings until Oct. 31st. Families can explore an illuminated night walk featuring a graveyard, ghostly pirate ship, giant pumpkin, and more. Kids can also become Junior Eco Guardians through a new scavenger hunt, while families can visit the haunted barn, see Mountsberg’s snakes and raptors, meet farm animals, and warm up around cozy campfires. Costumes are encouraged, and there are no jump scares, making the event a fun option for families looking for Halloween thrills without the frights.
Skelebration takes place at Mountsberg Conservation Area, 2259 Millborough Line in Campbellville. Admission is $23 for adults and $19 for kids and seniors, with lower prices for Conservation Halton members and free entry for kids 4 and under. Advance booking is required.
Enjoy the chance to celebrate the season and make some spooky memories together.

Local Golfers Give Back Across Halton ⛳
A local golf league is turning time on the course into meaningful support for charities across Halton, including the Burlington Food Bank.
The Senior Men’s League at RattleSnake Point Golf Club raised an incredible $96,000 this year, continuing a fundraising tradition that has been going strong for more than 15 years. The money will be shared among 11 local organizations supporting individuals and families across the community.
The club’s other leagues are getting involved too. The Men’s and Women’s Leagues raised an additional $45,000 combined, bringing the club’s total charitable fundraising for 2026 to an impressive $141,000.
The donation to the Burlington Food Bank is a great example of how community fundraising can make a difference close to home!
Looking for a Low-Key Thanksgiving? 🍂

Burlington Digest
Not every Thanksgiving needs a packed schedule. If you’re looking for a slower way to enjoy the long weekend, take advantage of one of Burlington’s best fall traditions: simply getting outside.
Head down to the path along Lake Ontario, accessible from Burlington Beach, and take in the colours of the season. Golden leaves, fiery reds, and soft oranges make for a beautiful backdrop, while the sunshine sparkles across the water.
Bring a warm apple cider or coffee from home, bundle up and take your time along the waterfront. Or, make a stop at one of Burlington’s great downtown cafés and grab something warm before or after your walk.
Sometimes the best holiday plans are the simplest ones: fresh air, beautiful views, and a little time to slow down and enjoy fall in Burlington.
